Membership and Information
To become a candidate to join the IILA, an applicant must have at least 10 years of experience as a property loss adjuster and be recognized as a leading professional by his or her peers. The candidate must be sponsored by one current IILA member and provide professional and personal recommendations from three individuals outside the Institute. IILA members enjoy a number of privileges. Foremost is affiliation with an acclaimed organization, which is recognized for its professionalism and high standards. Each year, a Directory of members is distributed outside the IILA to insurance organizations and appropriate governments agencies.
Each region is headed by a regional vice president who supervises the organization’s membership and committee activities within the area. Bylaws and a thorough review by the organization govern membership in the Institute. Certain limitations are placed on the number of representatives from a particular organization or country. The Institute also regularly publishes a newsletter to keep the far – flung membership appraised of IILA business and international business trends.
